The Stark multi-use trail threads through palmetto patches, pine scrub and oak hammocks. Most of the trail is shaded as it flows under the canopy trees with gentle curves. Be observant on this trail to see animals, fungi, floral and fauna along the way.
The Pine Island Trail is an out and back trail. The trail winds through sand pine scrub, flat woods, and a floodplain marsh. Scrub jays are frequently spotted along this trail.
Please note: The tracked chair is used on nature trails. It
cannot be taken onto the boardwalk near the spring.
Tracked chair reservations must be made more than 48 hours prior to the date of use. Time is needed to arrange for a volunteer to meet guests at the trail.
